To customize your icon show the application in the finder window, select it, and hit apple i and an information window should pop up. Then open the icon you want in another finder window and select and copy it. In the info window click on the icon in the upper left hand corner so it's highlighted in blue, then hit paste. That should replace the icon (just be aware it doesn't work on the finder, dashboard, or system preferences icons). You might have to remove the application from your dock and drag it back in to make the new icon show up though.
