Another one from digital illustration last semester based on the Decemberists song "We Go A Drowning" from Picaresque. Sketch scanned and finished in photoshop CS3.

Thank you! Her hair was so much fun to draw, I was kind of referencing the smoke in sumi-e and floating world paintings.

Thanks! Yeah, I had to sketch the angels separately and lay them into the linework. I love them though, they're so cute :heart: .

gorgeous lines...and I LOVE The Decemberists XD very poetic. I'd like to see your interpretation of Summersong or A Perfect Crime....

Thank you! I actually did do a sketch for Summersong at the same time as this and the We Go A Drowning piece but I'm not sure where it went. I'll have to track it down and finish it off. As for A Perfect Crime I've taken a couple whacks at coming up with an image but I think I was going at it from the wrong angle. I'll have to rethink it.

Sorry, I didn't see your reply for a while, school has been really crazy this semester ^^; . Yeah, I'm actually from Portland so I know a decent amount of people that listen to them, but they've steadily been getting more popular I think (especially since O Valencia has been playing on the radio). I'll totally have to go drag out my old sketchbook though. I thought I had a scanned sketch but I haven't been able to find it ^^; . I'll grab it eventually though!
